”Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and FABULOUS? Actually, who are you not to be?” ~ Nelson Mandela

Lifestyle I get such a kick out of making videos with my Flip Video. It’s tiny and portable and so easy a 4 year old could use it. I’m brainstorming on what to film next…
Maybe I’ll film Maya, my Boxer. She’s 8 years old and the sweetest thing you ever want to meet. She’s brindle with white “socks” and a white mask. She just got spayed last week after 2 litters and 1 false pregnancy. I remember with her 1st litter, she was very protective and got anxious anytime I handled the pups. So I backed off and let her enjoy her time with her babies. One day, I was sitting in the living room watching TV and she carried a puppy in and put it in my lap. She brought the others in one by one and gave them to me as well. It was so touching! She was finally ready to share her babies with me. 😉 I never felt so close to her than at that very moment and will always remember it. Sometimes it’s the little things in life that bring the greatest joy. 🙂
Fall Represents a New Season for Change
Good bye Summer and the bad food choices and HELLO Fall! Fall officially begins September 23rd and it’s one of my FAVORITE seasons. Maybe because I’m originally from the midwest and enjoy the break from the sizzling Atlanta heat and the chance to pull out my favorite Fall sweaters, leggings and boots.
The change in seasons not only represents a change in the weather, but an opportunity to incorporate positive changes in your life and your surroundings. Like changing up your workout routine, recommitting to healthy eating, finding new fitness friends and incorporating the colors and scents of Fall into your space.
For those of you who don’t know me well, in addition to being a fitness coach, I’m a true Fashionista! I love looking good on the outside as much as I love feeling good on the inside. But if you’re like me and don’t have a gazillion dollars to keep up with the ever changing fashion trends, here are a few tips and tricks for looking fly on a budget.
My secret weapon for staying fly without breaking the bank? Buy clothes at discount stores and rock them with a mix of fashion jewelry and expensive handbags!MaShelle Dean, Fashionista
Accessorize with Statement Making Pieces for Impact
A little accessorizing goes a long, long way. It’s the final touch that pulls your look completely together for the ultimate “wow” factor. Use the proper mix of colors, prints, and textures and select accessories that accentuate and compliment your total look. Whatever your style, looking fabulous entails your complete visual package.
In the words of actor John Witherspoon “you gotta coordinate!” I’m a chunky necklace, statement making bangles kinda girl. But whatever your flavor, go for jewelry “sets” or individual pieces that compliment your wardrobe. They don’t have to match exactly as long as they share complimentary qualities (tone, texture, etc.) Inset picture: Reece necklace ($68 – Chicos)
