Hello December

A new month, new goals…a new opportunity to get it right.  There’s something about a new month that breeds opportunity. Another chance to start fresh with your goals and all the improvements you’ve wanted to make in life.  They may not be wide sweeping changes.   Sometimes they’re just little tweaks.  Small steps you wanna take to reach a larger goal.  They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.  That quote is so poignant for me.  It’s like it breaks down the most complex challenge into its simplest terms which somehow makes any big goal more doable.

December

The particular goal is not as important as just having a goal in the first place. Something about NOT having something to work towards feels stagnant, complacent even – an existence I’ve never been quite comfortable with.

Sometimes my goals are centered around being a better fitness instructor.  How can I make my classes more fun, more challenging, more effective?  How can I motivate the students to want to ease themselves further and further outside their comfort zone? Other times my goals center around improving my own physical fitness, primarily because results is the biggest motivator  – students and clients seeing that I not only talk the talk, but walk the walk.  That what I teach and preach actually works because they see it manifested in me in every class and every motivational selfie I post. But no matter if my goals are focused on strengthening my external being or improving my internal one, they’re always about being a better, stronger and wiser ME.  For without evolution, without growth, what is our reason for being?

So this December, I hope you too will see a golden opportunity for change.  Another opportunity to get it right.  I hope you too will take inventory of your life to see what adjustments, big or small, can be made to become the wonderful being you’ve always imagined you’d be.  The choice is yours to make.  YOU have all the power.
