I started Body Beast last week! YAY!! I snagged it for only $29 during Beachbody’s Black Friday sale. I’ve been wanting to do another weight lifting program so when it went on sale, I figured why not? My main concern was that the workouts would be too long like P90X. But the Body Beast workouts are much shorter in length, but just as intense! Each workout is 48 minutes or less.
I’ve been doing PiYo for a few weeks now and I’m seeing hardcore results! I can start to see the separation in my quads! Yay!!
In a nut shell, PiYo is a fusion of pilates and yoga and is affectionately called “Yoga for Rebels”. 🙂 The layers build from a slow pace to a faster pace for added cardio benefits, so you get strength training, cardio and flexibility training all in one but without the impact on your joints. I never thought I’d love yoga and then I was introduced to PiYo and loved it! One of my girlfriends describes it as poetry in motion. Such a fitting description.
PiYo is a strength & flexibility workout using only your body weight to burn fat and sculpt lean, strong muscles. My flexibility has increased 10 fold just from doing PiYo once a week. I teach PiYo, Turbo Kick and RIPPED at the YMCA in Atlanta.

Just did P90X Legs & Back. I’m B-E-A-T! I absolutely see why people see results with P90X. If you watch your diet that is. It’s grueling but fun (in a challenging kinda way). I prefer doing my fun workouts, but I respect ANYBODY that completes this program. I’m in week 6. NO JOKE! I’ll look like this tomorrow! LOL.
I was supposed to do P90X Ab Ripper X and Legs & Back yesterday but didn’t get a chance to. So I just finished and am having a Recovery formula. I love working legs, but that workout is TOUGH esp all the pull ups. I’ve been exhausted all week this first week, so I’m making sure I drink R&R after the major workouts. I need it!
Since I have Fit Club on Mondays, I’m switching up my schedule so Tues is my rest day. I’ll do Kenpo X tonite, Fit Club tomorrow and rest on Tuesday. This is definitely a tough program and I’m currently in the “I hate it” stage ;-). But I’m looking forward to the results. Thanks goodness for my accountability partner!
Clean eating has been on point, except for a BBQ Chicken pizza at California Pizza Kitchen yesterday. But I order it on thin whole wheat crust.
