Are you a compulsive exerciser?

I’m thrilled that so many people have incorporated regular exercise into their daily lives.  But too often I hear people say “I don’t wanna take a rest day!”  Too much exercise can lead to injury, fatigue, and a suppressed immune system.  By all means WORK IT OUT on a regular basis.  But make sure you take at least one full rest day a week.

To get in peak shape quickly, I generally recommend a 6 day a week fitness regimen that includes 3 days of strength training and targeted ab/core work, 1 day of HIIT (high intensity interval training), and 2-3 days of cardio (HIIT and cardio can done on the same day).  I build in one day of rest to give your body time to recover and your muscles time to repair and build.
